Glassbottom Boat Tours
Welcome aboard our flagship glassbottom boat, Spirit of Pennekamp.
Enjoy a unique glimpse into the serene undersea world in style and
comfort.
At 65 feet in length, this high-speed catamaran is capable of
transporting up to 130 passengers to the various nautical destinations
of the Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary. The itinerary includes a
number of shallow reefs teeming with wildlife. Tours are 2 ½ hours long.

Walk from the property to Swim
with the Dolphins at Dolphin Cove
Our Structured dolphin swims are offered daily at 9:15 am, 1:00 pm,
and 3:00 pm. This is not a snorkeling with dolphins program, but
participants need to be able to swim, and feel comfortable in 10 --
15 feet of water wearing a flotation device. Swimmers should plan on
spending at least 2 hours here at Dolphins Plus with us.
The swimmers in each group will take turns entering the water and
interacting hands-on with the dolphins. Each swimmer will complete a
series of behaviors, which may vary depending on the dolphins and
trainer. Dolphin swims continue until each swimmer has completed all
behaviors. One on one contact is guaranteed. This program does not
involve any free swimming or snorkeling with the dolphins. All
interaction is guided by a trainer.

State Park !
John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park was the first undersea park in the
United States. John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park, and the adjacent
Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary, cover approximately 178 nautical
square miles of coral reefs, seagrass beds and mangrove swamps. The park
extends 3 miles into the Atlantic Ocean and is approximately 25 miles in
length. These areas were established to protect and preserve a portion
of the only living coral reef in the continental United States.
The coral reef at John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park are among the
most beautiful and diverse of all living communities.Personal in-water
guide available upon request for $30 plus tax. Each additional snorkeler
(guided) is $15 plus tax. Max. group size is 6 snorkelers per guide. |

Scuba Diving
Divers from around the world visit John Pennekamp Coral Reef
State Park to explore the living coral reefs of the Florida Keys and
experience diving amidst the area's natural wildlife habitat. Our
PADI 5-Star Gold Palm facility offers two-location, two-tank dives
twice daily, at 9:00am and 1:30pm.

Power Boat Rentals
There is nothing like the beauty of the open ocean on a tranquil day in
the Florida Keys. Our fleet of power boats affords our guests the option
to relax on the reefs, fish, scuba dive, or simply cruise the clear
blue-green waters of the Atlantic. The Open fisherman boats range from
20-23 feet, feature center consoles and Bimini tops, and are
well-equipped with all maritime safety requirements. (Deposits required.
Minimum charges apply).
Boating
A boat ramp is available at the marina ($10.00). Boaters should always
exercise caution in shallow reef areas and when approaching any area
where there are Diver Down flags, moored boats or swimmers. Never anchor
in coral. Always obtain a navigation chart before departing for open
water. Combustible engines are not permitted in near shore areas of the
park which are less than four feet deep.
Boat Slips and Moorings are available for overnight rental. Slips are
located in the marina and include water and electric with bathroom and
shower facilities nearby. Moorings are located in Largo Sound with
dinghy dockage at the marina. Both include full use of the park
facilities, trash disposal, and pump out. Reservations recommended. |
